Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all accounting and financial operations, including month-end and year-end close processes, reports, accounts payable/receivable (AP/AR), payroll, general ledger, and cash flow, ensuring all financial obligations are met.
  • Prepare and manage budgets, financial forecasts, and long-term financial plans.
  • Generate and review financial statements, providing reports to the General Manager and President.
  • Lead the year-end audit process, serving as the primary contact for external auditors and ensuring timely audit completion.
  • Oversee cash flow management and general ledger accuracy.
  • Prepare year-end inventory reconciliations.
  • Review and ensure compliance with tax filings (e.g., GST, PST), meeting deadlines and adhering to regulations.
  • Manage the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Ensure compliance with Canadian tax laws for filings such as corporate income tax and GST/HST.
  • Oversee and review insurance policies, leases, and other agreements.
  • Monitor financial performance and provide leadership with detailed analysis and reports on key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Collaborate with other departments by offering financial insights to enhance business performance and financial operations.
  • Manage cross-border financial transactions, ensuring accurate cost tracking and timely payment processing.
  • Monitor cash flow, bank reconciliation and inventory costs across global operations.
  • Year end processing WCB, EHT and T4’s.
  • Clock time management software.
  • Build and maintain relationships with financial institutions.
  • Analyze internal processes and systems to identify opportunities for efficiency and improvement.

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education in accounting or finance (diploma, degree, or certificate).
  • 5-7 years of experience in accounting or financial management, ideally within the manufacturing sector.
  • Strong understanding of Canadian accounting standards (ASPE or IFRS) and financial reporting.
  • Familiarity with Canadian tax laws and regulatory compliance.
  • Proven experience managing cross-border financial transactions.
  • Payroll management expertise, particularly with Payworks.
  • Proficiency in Excel, ERP systems, and other productivity tools.
  • Exceptional organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to work proactively and independently.
  • Detail-oriented and professional, with a commitment to excellence.

What We Offer:

Salary: $38.00-$45.00 per hour

Job Type: Part-time (Expected hours: 22.5 per week – 3 days, Monday to Friday)
